Description
A. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and supervision to accomplish the following statement of work. All work shall be done in accordance with National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Agency, Life Safety Codes, all local building codes, and any attached drawings. Contractor to perform site visit prior to submittal of cost proposal. B. Contractor work hours to be 0730 to 1630, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. Should it become necessary for work to be accomplished during weekends and holidays, the contractor is to provide written notification 72 hours prior to the desired days. C. Building 1777 is a controlled area under the protection of the base security contractor. The Contractor shall comply with all security regulations imposed by this activity. The Contractor, subcontractors, and all of their employees shall have access only to those areas required for execution of this work. Contractor shall provide a list of employees scheduled to work on this project. The list shall include any subcontractor?s necessary to complete this project and submitted to the Contracting Officer for review and approval in order to access building 1777 for the contract work. D. Escorts will accompany the Contractor at all times due to the security requirements of the areas affected by this renovation. Contractor is required to notify AFTAC/XPC 48 hours in advance as to which areas the contractor will require access. This advance notice is required so that the Facility Management Office can arrange the necessary number of escorts and the times their presence is required. E. Badges: All Contractor personnel shall display assigned visitor badges while working in the area. Badges will be issued by the assigned escort at the beginning of each work day and returned to the assigned escort prior to exiting the facility. Contractor should expect to incur minor delays for daily badge processing. Contractor is to perform the following to accommodate isolating the north portion of the existing Synthesis lab, room 130C per the attached schematic. The new room will be designated as an Extraction room, room 130K. 1. Modify existing doors, walls, and cabinets per the attached schematic. A. Install new dividing wall at location shown in existing Synthesis room. 1. Isolate space above the ceiling. 2. Seal new wall panels to deck frames. 3. Remove corner base cabinet, cut epoxy top to accommodate new layout. 4. Furnish and install trim and base molding. B. Relocate existing door from Change Out Room (130D) to new Extraction room from the hallway. C. Replace existing Change Out Room door with new door, opposite swing. D. Add new wall section with new door in north/south hall. 2. Existing air handling systems currently serving the Synthesis lab will need to be modified to enable isolation of the newly formed Extraction room from the remaining portion of Synthesis Lab. A. Air handler #1B (southernmost unit) will continue to serve the east/west hallway; both change out/gowning rooms, Master Mix A and Master Mix B, Storage Support room, and the south portion of Synthesis Lab. 1. Replace motor/blower assembly in AHU #1B to accommodate increased air flow. 2. Furnish and install a new VFD for #1B to allow for increased air flow. B. Existing Air Handler #2 will continue to service PCR and Gel Labs. C. Existing air handler 1A will be modified and will serve the new Extraction room and north/south hallway area. Since the new Extraction room needs to be maintained at negative 0.1? pressure, a new exhaust fan will be added to the exterior mechanical space along the east side of the building. 1. Install new exhaust blower, exhaust ductwork and support rail along building exterior at location shown on attached schematic. 2. Install new ceiling exhaust diffuser. 3. Furnish and install a bag-in/bag-out filter housing on the discharge of the new exhaust duct from the Extraction room. 4. Add control wiring as necessary to the new exhaust fan and AHU #1A. D. A new monitor/control panel is to be furnished and supplied adjacent to the two existing panels within the east/west hallway. This panel is required to allow for pressure, temperature and relative humidity control and measurement in the new Extraction room. E. Existing ductwork above ceiling to be modified as necessary to supply appropriate HEPA filters. F. Adjust air flow upon completion of installation. G. Contractor provide testing and re-certification after completion. 3. Contractor responsible for any and all electrical modifications required to accommodate the installation of the wall and creation of the new Extraction Room. A. Modify (remove or relocate) existing electrical as necessary within the Synthesis Room to accommodate installation of new wall panels. B. Power for new AHU #1B motor and new Extraction Room exhaust fan to be provided by existing electrical panel located within the Autoclave Room adjacent to the new Extraction Room. C. Contractor to annotate existing panel schedules and tag equipment/outlets as to power sources. 4. Contractor to provide as-builts and new sequence of operations upon completion of work. A. As-builts to be furnished in AutoCAD format, release 2000 or newer. 5. Unless otherwise specified in this Statement of Work all demoed materials are to be properly disposed of by the contractor. 6. Contractor will clean the renovation area daily. 7. Contractor shall perform final clean up of site. 8. Contractor shall protect equipment and work areas close to the construction area. 9. Contractor to provide a schedule of work for review and approval.
