Description
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol, Laredo Sector has a requirement of the armoring of a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. This requirement is being awarded under FAR Part 13 and will result in issuance of a Purchase Order and is being issued as a Request for Quote. Quotes are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. The request for quote number is HSBP1007Q1288. This is a TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS set aside. One firm?Xfixed price order is anticipated to be awarded as a result of this request for quote. CLIN 0010 Materials and labor for armoring a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban (furnished by the Government) in accordance with the Statement of Work below. Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this acquisition. Company must be registered on Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before an award could be made to them. If company is not registered in CCR, they may do so by going to CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov. The following FAR clauses and provisions apply to this acquisition: FAR 52.204-7 Central Contractor Registration; 52.232-1 Payments; 52.232-8 Discounts for Prompt Payment; 52.233-1 Disputes; 52-243-1 Changes Fixed Price Alternate II (APR 1984); 52-247-34 F.O.B. Destination; 52.249-1 Termination for Convenience of the Government; and 52.222-41 Service Contract Act of 1965 as amended. QUOTES DUE DATE: Quotes are due by August 15, 2007 at 5:00 PM Central Time. STATEMENT OF WORK DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE: Provide materials and service for armoring a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban (furnished by the Government). The armoring shall meet the following specifications: Protection Level IV (Same as European Level B6 or NIJ 3): All materials should be tested and certified to withstand impacts from the following weapons: {7.62 NATO x 51; M80 Ball; 5.56 Caliber (.223); M193; 7.62 x 39} (30.06 High Power Rifle) (AK-47 and M-16) (12 Gauge Shotgun) (Plus handgun munitions .38 Cal.; 9MM; .357 Cal.; .44 Cal.) Explosive Protection against DM-51hand grenades, anti tank mines and IED??s SPECIFICATIONS: Transparent Armor: Windows ?V All Curved Glass/Polycarbonate ?V 40mm Opaque Armor: Doors ?V Spectra?? Shield or equal (Light weight armor) ?V 3/4?? All Pillars and Posts - High Hardened Ballistic Steel ?V 5/16?? Roof and Floor ?V Ballistic Nylon ?V Fragmentation Protection Gas Tank - Ballistic Nylon ?V Fragmentation Protection Battery ?V High Hardened Ballistic Steel ?V 5/16?? Firewall ?V High Hardened Ballistic Steel ?V 3/16?? Rear Cargo Door ?V High Hardened Ballistic Steel ?V 5/16?? Other requirements: Tires ?V (4) Special Run Flat Tire Inserts Nylon door risers on all doors Reinforced Shocks and springs Reinforced Braking System Reinforced Door Hinges Radiator Protection Install Gel Cell Battery Schedule of Performance: Contractor shall deliver armored vehicle no later than 120 Days after receipt of vehicle. Delivery Location: Pricing shall include shipping vehicle to and from contractor location to 207 W. Del Mar Blvd.; Laredo, TX 78041. EVALUATION CRITERIA A firm-fixed price order will be made to the lowest price technically, responsive and responsible offeror, whose proposal will meet the Governments?? requirement. PAYMENT A purchase order will be issued for the work described in this notice. NET 30 payment terms will apply to the order, however, payment will not be made until inspection and acceptance of work has been performed by the Government and an acceptable, original invoice has been submitted by the vendor.
