Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs - VA Puget Sound Health Care System intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Stericycle / Bio Systems for Bio-hazardous waste disposal service. The Contractor shall replace existing disposal needle receptacle containers with reusable needle receptacle containers for both American Lake and Seattle Campuses. The contractor shall also service and change out the permanent needle receptacles as follows: One (1) day per week at the American Lake Campus and Two (2) days per week at Seattle Campus. Service shall include transportation and treatment of disposable waste the same as the rest of the medical waste. The contractor shall be capable of obtaining the proper licensing, certifications and insurance requirements to perform biohazard waste services in Washington State (King and Pierce Counties). This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Interested persons may identify their interest by written notification to the contracting officer by 3:00pm pacific daylight time zone August 10, 2007. NAICS code for this procurement is 562211 with size standard of $11.5 million dollars. Supporting evidence must be provided in complete detail demonstrating your firm ability to meet this requirement and obtain the necessary Washington State license and permit necessary to perform the work. A determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
