Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization is conducting a Business Case Analysis (BCA) of aviation weather services. This specific phase of the BCA is examining the viability of different approaches to life-cycle support for the Automated Surface Observation Systems (ASOS). FAA is considering acquiring ASOS life-cycle support services via and possible upgrading and or replacing ASOS to commercial configurations via a performance based acquisition. The purpose of this Market Survey is to gather appropriate information to determine the viability of those life-cycle support service approaches and to: ??? Determine the level of interest and capabilities in the public and private sectors to provide life-cycle support for FAA ASOSs ??? Assist in the identification and analysis of approaches within the commercial marketplace for ASOS and the associated life-cycle support. Respondents Respondents are encouraged to provide feedback about how they could perform life-cycle support services on the ASOS; configuration upgrades/replacement and transition to a commercial systems; and life-cycle support on the end state system. This is a Market Survey. This is not a solicitation, Screening Information Request (SIR) or Request for Offer (RFO). Please note that neither the existence of this document, nor the process, guarantees that a SIR or RFP will follow. All interested parties are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred associated with any submission received from industry in response to this market survey. Therefore, any costs associated with the submission will be solely at the interested party's expense. Any proprietary information must be adequately marked as proprietary. In addition, responses to this market survey will not be returned.
