Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with HIMSS (Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society), 230 East Ohio Suite 600, Chicago, Ill 60611 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, ?Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements,? to purchase a license to access the HIMSS Analytics Database. The HIMSS database contains information for over 5,000 hospitals and 28,000 care delivery organizations in their continuing efforts in the arena of electronic medical records and health information technology (HIT). As it stands, HIMSS is the only company that can provide this service. Procuring this license also includes initial training and help-desk access. If SSA does not identify other acceptable sources capable of providing this requirement, the agency shall issue a sole source award of the product and maintenance under FAR par 13, Simplified Acquisitions. This is NOT a Request for Proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Respondents will NOT be notified of the results of the information received. Verbal responses are NOT acceptable and will NOT be considered. Responses to this notice must be submitted by July 25, 2007, by 12 PM EST. Responses may be sent via E-MAIL ONLY to the point of contact listed below. NO PHONE CALLS OR FAXES WILL BE ACCEPTED. No submissions may exceed 5MB.
