- This synopsis is for market research purposes to determine the availability of a Dial Bore Gage meeting the criteria and capabilities as follows: 1) It must be manufactured in the United States. 2) It must be a commercial or modified commercial item with same/similar basic design manufactured for the last two years and sold through a customary distribution network, Internet, or catalog on a competitive basis with other manufacturer's Dial Bore Ga ges of similar design and intended market niche. 3) The Dial Bore Gage shall be capable of measuring the bore diameter of artillery weapons, (gun tubes, mortars, and cannons), ranging in size from 1.457 inches to 8 inches to determine wear. It shall be capable of reaching a depth of at least 89 inches down the longest gun/cannon tube either by itself or with extensions. The Dial Bore Gage shall have a storage/carrying case to contain and protect the gage and all of its extensions, components, or accessories.
