Description
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project entitled: Asbestos Abatement Steam Tunnel Bldg # 64 Boiler Plant at New York Healthcare Harbor System, VA Extended Care Center, St.Albans Campus, New York. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to the following: Providing all labor, materials, equipment, and tools to perform abatement of asbestos insulation on abandoned pipe located in Building 61 Boiler Plant Steam Tunnel. Work includes insulation of existing 8" bare pipe and steam condensate pipes that are in operational. The bare pipe is adjacent to the asbestos pipe. Work also includes, but is not limited to, re-lamping existing incandescent bulbs inside the steam tunnel and repacking of six (6) existing ball joint in Mechanical Equipment Bldg 88 and 89. Any shut down of the operating steam line for re-insulation or ball joints repacking shall happen between May and August 30. Request for shutdown will only happen during this period and may only happen at night or at weekends. All work shall be in accordance with Contract Drawings and Specification. The area to be abated is approximately 1050 SF. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $100,000 to $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within (60) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This procurement is restricted to competition amongst Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-ASide. As a result, all qualified responsible sources may submit a bids, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 562910 and $13.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about July 17, 2007, with an anticipated bid closing date of on or about Aug 20, 2007. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB. An organized site visit shall be scheduled and identified in the IFB.
