- The National Data Buoy Center intends to negotiate only with Vaisala Inc. Louisville, KY for 16 Each, Model PTB200 Digital Barometers, Class B, LCD Display with backlight; cable, power in and RS232 Serial access for PTB220; Adapter 110-240 VAC in 15 VDC out Compatible with 213016 cable. The digital barometer to be purchased has the following salient characteristics: Accuracy: +/- 0.5 hPa; Resolution: <0.1 hPa; Drift: <0.5 hPa/year; Weight (with power supply and battery): 2.5 kg; Dimensions (cm): 22 X 22 X 15; Power: Adapted to 120VAC (nominal), 1A maximum, for battery charging or operation; Calibration: Factory calibrated with measurements traceable to a reference standard developed and maintained by the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST). The digital barometer must display the following measured and calculated quantities in a human-readable format: Barometric pressure in hPa; Three-hour pressure trend in hPa with increasing/decreasing indication; World Meteorological Organization (WMO) pressure tendency code The digital barometer must have a serial interface (RS-232 or equivalent) that can be connected to a personal computer. The computer must be able to access the current pressure requirement. See numbered Notes 1 and 22.
