- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought, Request for Information (RFI) notice for market research purposes. This is not a Request for Proposal, an Invitation for Bid or a Request for Quotation. This notice is for informational and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. A formal solicitation document does not exist. The following information is requested to assist the Defense Logistics Agency, J-7, in conducting market research of industry to identify potential sources. The Defense Logistics Agency is seeking responsible, technically qualified, sources with demonstrated field experience in the application of ISO-22745, ?Industrial Automation Systems and Integration ? Open Technical Dictionaries and Their Application to Catalogues,? with special attention to Part 30 of the standard to provide technical assistance with the object model of the ECCMA Open Technical Dictionary (eOTD) that ISO-22745 was based on. This includes assistance in locating DLIS data within the eOTD, assistance in querying the eOTD for DLIS data, technical assistance with the XML structure of ISO-22745 and the associated five schemas and namespaces, iXML and rXML coding and XSLT transformation of ISO-22745, and technical explanations of the relationships of objects within the eOTD core and administrative models. Respondents should include a capability statement clearly and concisely outlining their individual qualifications. Limit your response to no more than five (5), single-sided, typewritten pages of text (inclusive of charts, graphs and photos) while utilizing a font size of no less than 12 point. The Government will treat all information received in response to this notice as proprietary and such information will be safeguarded in accordance with applicable Government regulations. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. The submission of this information is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Defense Logistics Agency to procure these services, to pay for the information requested or to make an award on the basis of this sources sought notice. Responses should contain company name, address, telephone number, Facsimile number, e-mail address, CAGE code and business size classification (e.g. large, small, women-owned, 8(a), SDVOSB). Respondents should also furnish a list of all current Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) or Government-wide Agency Contract (GWAC) instruments currently held. Submissions in response to the RFI shall be sent to David.Straughn@dla.mil and must be received no later than 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Thursday, July 26, 2007. Respondents must indicate in the subject line of the e-mail response "ISO-22745 IT Consulting Services". Submissions may also be faxed to 269-961-4474, ATTN: DES-WC/David D. Straughn. No phone calls will be accepted. Information provided in response to this RFI will be used to assess tradeoffs, alternatives and to determine if competitive opportunities exist in the marketplace.
