Description
Services of an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm with specialized experience in design and construction buried pipe systems to provide site investigation, design development, contract drawings and specifications, and construction period services, for project 596-08-105, REPLACE UNDERGROUND CHILLED WATER PIPING, LD, at VA Medical Center, Leestown Road Division, Lexington, Kentucky. This project is anticipated to be a design effort to remove and replace approximately 6,800 linear feet of various sized (1-1/2" to 10") deteriorated underground chilled water piping with new chilled water lines in a single trench that is approximately 3,400 linear feet. The system consists of looped parallel chilled water lines designated as Chilled Water and Chilled Water Return. Project design will clearly show required work, phasing requirements, and instructions to construction contractor on demolition and installation method of new chilled water line circulating loop system. Design disciplines will include: Civil Engineering Design and Land Surveying. Estimated construction cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Project will be accomplished in AutoCad .dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in Microsoft Word .doc format. This procurement is 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS who are located WITHIN A 200 MILE RADIUS of VA Medical Center, Lexington, KY, NAICS 541330 with a numerical size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Interested firms, with required specialization, must submit three (3) copies of Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer qualifications, to the issuing office no later than 2:00 p.m.EST, August 20, 2007 (Fed-ex or hand-carried submissions to be delivered to VA Medical Center, Attn: Angie Napier (90C), Bldg. 2, Rm. 206, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511). Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type; capacity to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry for projects of similar type; team proposed for this project; previous experience of proposed team; project control (design schedule control and quality assurance reviews of submission documents); and estimating effectiveness. This is NOT a Request for Proposals. No solicitation package will be issued.
