- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR Subpart 13.5, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation Reference number is 07-42-0070Rev1 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-16. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334290. The deadline for submitting quotes is Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 3:00 PM EDT. The OCIO/NLRB intends to purchase the following: 1. AVENTAIL EX-2500 APPLIANCE PAIR WITH 50 CONCURRENT USER LICENSE, 2. AVENTAIL ASSURANCE FOR 1 YEAR GOLD SUPPORT FOR EX-2500 APPLIANCE PAIR. 3. Shipping, if any. F.O.B. Destination is Washington, DC 20005. Brand Name Justification for Aventail Appliance procurement:The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) is in the process of upgrading its remote access capabilities to support additional users, via a larger appliance, and to provide high availability, through the addition of a second fail-over appliance, for this critical service. In order to maintain a high level of compatibility with our enterprise infrastructure, and to best leverage existing OCIO staff and end user knowledge, the NLRB is seeking bids only for Aventail remote access appliances. All remote access to NLRB enterprise applications and infrastructure is presently enabled through a single Aventail appliance. This has been the case since the Agency began the switch to a virtual VPN service from direct dial-up access nearly two years ago. The Agency presently is engaged in a project to link the existing Aventail appliance to an RSA SecurID solution to permit the mandated two-factor authentication for remote access. The benefits of continuing to deploy an Aventail solution are both hard-, as the new appliances will simply plug-into the existing infrastructure, and soft, as the Agency?s past training and experience of both OCIO staff and end-users will most certainly be best leveraged in this manner. FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors/Commercial Items applies. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation/Commercial Items. Evaluation factor is price and price related items. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders/Commercial Items.
