- NASA/KSC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources to determine whether there are two or more small business sources that can meet KSC's requirement for the purchase of one terahertz imaging system with the following specifications: (1) Pulsed terahertz inspection system with 50 Ghz to 2 Thz or greater bandwidth with a 2 Thz upper limit as a minimum. (2) Greater than 300 picoseconds temporal scan duration (time window) with 100 waveforms per second (~100 Hz) or greater acquisition rate. (3) The system has to be portable. (4) 19 inch rack mountable controller and no taller than 10 inches or 5 rack units. (5) At least 25 feet between controller and inspection head. (6) Turn key system available within 6 months of contract award. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto. All responses shall be submitted to Regina Clifton no later than Thursday, July 19, 2007.
