- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis sixty Lithium Thermal Batteries in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Eagle Picher Technologies, Joplin, MO. The thermal batteries are used to provide power to the new AN/DKT-89 Secure Telementry Section (ATE) of the Sidewinder AIM-9X missile upon missile launch. The battery contains pyrotechnic squib which is fired as part of the missile's launch sequence, that allows the AN/DKT-89 to be powered after the missile's umbilical cable has been separated from the aircraft launcher. The lithium thermal batteries shall conform to drawing number 639AS11129. Delivery schedule shall be a minimum of seven thermal batteries to be delivered by 12 November 2007, at a rate of seven batteries every two weeks thereafter. Any firms other than the above, should submit at a minimum their qualifications and any other information considered pertinent to this requirement to the contract specialist no later than 10 days after the date of publication of this notice.
