- I1700070203. This solicitation as well as any issued amendments will be available on-line at http://ideasec.nbc.gov website on or about July 25, 2007. The work of this contract is located from Somes Sound to Seal Harbor on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Work consists of clearing a 50-foot wide boundary fuel break on approximately 5 1/2 miles of surveyed property lines. All lines will be flagged, signed and delineated in advance of work to be performed with access through parklands only. Travel to worksites by motorized vehicles is on established roads. All off road travel will be by foot; no motorized ATV vehicles are allowed. The boundary areas range from open, flat, rock face and slopes to some steep and uneven terrain while encountering all types of forest/fuel types as bog, grass, dead and down tree areas to dense soft and hardwood stands. The cutting, thinning and pruning will be by manual means using chainsaws, brush cutters, polesaws/pruners and hand tools. Disposal of debris can be chipped if and when possible or otherwise dispersed inside of park boundaries. Crew size is limited to no more than 5 people. Work must be completed by May 31, 2007. NAICS 113310, Logging. This solicitation is open to all size businesses. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. A pre bid site visit will be held at Thursday, August 2, 2007 rain or shine. Meet at Acadia National Park Headquarters conference room, Route 233, McFarland Hill, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 at 9:00 am. All bidders are encouraged to attend and should bring their solicitation package. Although the site is always open for inspection, no other pre bid meeting with government personnel will be scheduled. Please contact Linda McFarland by noon on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 if you plan to attend. Hard copy bid documents only shall be accepted for this solicitation (no faxed or electronic bid documents will be accepted). Bids must be received at Acadia National Park, P. O. Box 177, Bar Harbor, Maine 04609 by 3:00 pm on August 28, 2007 local prevailing time. A complete bid package shall include the original and two copies of completed SF 33, Solicitation, Offer, and Award, all with original signatures and completed Section K, Representations and Certifications. Award shall be made to the responsive and responsible offeror whose offer represents the best value for the Government, considering only price and price related factors included in the solicitation.
