Description
US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) intends to issue a sole-source Request for Proposal (RFP) to satisfy the US Army commercial aerial jump platform and training requirement, to Viking Air Limited, 9574 Hampden Rd, Sidney, British Columbia, Canada VBL 5V5, as the only known manufacturer of a de Havilland DHC-6 aircraft that accommodates two (2) pilots, and up to sixteen (16) parachutists with equipment; and the Egress on the commercially available aircraft measures a minimum of 50 inches wide by 47 inches high. This jump platform will be a direct replacement for the US Army Parachute Team (USPT) Golden Knights Twin Otter capability. The Twin Otter is the only known commercially available aircraft which, without modification, meets all the op erating requirements of the Golden Knights for both demonstration and competition. The awarded contract will be for three (3) new fixed wing aircraft, and qualified pilot upgrade certification training. A Firm-Fixed price contract, for a Base Quantity of One (1) aircraft plus training, and Options for Two (2) additional aircraft, to be negotiated under FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, is contemplated. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. RFP will be available on 7/16/07; submit requests by email.
