- Description
- This requirement is for the removal and replacement of one (1) exterior unit substation (Bldg 880) and one (1) interior unit substation (Bldg 882). The exterior substation replacement consists of the removal of an existing outdoor unit substation and replacement at the same location. The interior unit will be removed and replaced with new electrical gear consisting of a duplex primary switch located inside the existing electrical room, new cast-coil transformer and main secondary circuit breaker located outdoors, and a low-voltage switchgear section located inside an electrical room. All secondary feeders that are fed from both units substation shall be replaced. Primary cables for the exterior unit substation will be reused. Removal of existing switchgear control cables containing asbestos will be performed by another contractor in conjunction with this requirement. The period of performance will be 180 calendar days. A site visit is strongly recommended. The estimated construction magnitude is between $500,000 and $800,000. Award will be made pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Bid opening date shall be 30 calendar days after issuance of the solicitation. Bids shall remain valid for 180 calendar days.
