Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Alexandria VA Medical Center, Alexandria, Louisiana, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Cytyc Surgical Products, Afpharetta, GA to furnish a ThinPrep 2000 Processor for the Laboratory. This procurement is being conducted in accordance Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 334516. Cytyc Surgical Products is classified as a large business concern and is the sole distributor for this equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification the Contracting Office within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Alexandria VA Medical Center will proceed with sole source negotiations with Cytyc Surgical Products.
