Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement for the site preparation for future runway 31R, Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), Midway Airport, Chicago, Illinois. Work includes, but not limited to: A. Survey of the existing ductbanks along with the Resident Engineer in order to verify the ductbank construction requirements. B. Construction of approximately 150 lf of three-way, 3" PVC Concrete Encased Ductbank between handholes HH631GS03 and HH31GS04, including all related trenching an backfill work. C. Construction of approximately 150 LF of two-way, 3" PVC Concrete Encased Ductbank between Handhold HH31GS08 and the new equipment power and control rack including all related trenching and backfill work. D. Installation of four (4) 4'x6'x60: Reinforced Concrete Equipment Pads. E. Construction of a new Equipment Rack, including all related Concrete, Electrical, and Metal Framing. F. Installation of new underground ducts from the new power and control rack to new 36'x24'x42' deep fiberglass handhole and between the new fiberglass handhold and new foundation pads including all related excavation, backfill, trenching, electrical, and grounding. G. Installation of approximately 3000 feet of 3-1C 1/0 AWG Type XLP insulation and 1-1C-#6 AWG Type XLP Insulation contractor-furnished power cables from the runway 31C Glideslope Building to the new 100AMP outdoor rated disconnect located on the new equipment rack. H. Installation of approximately 1000 feet of 6-pair, #19 AWG DEB Government Furnished control cable from the Runway 31C Glideslope Building to the new Government Furnished Equipment Cabinet (Termination by Others). I. All related trenching, excavation, backfill, grading, and misc, electrical work for a complete installation. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the specifications and contract provisions under the subject contract. NAICS Code is 237990 This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
