Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD., Office of Acquisitions, 6701 Rockledge Dr RKL2/6100 MSC 7902, Bethesda, MD, 20892-7902, United States This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation to procure commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format of 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issue. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures and the resultant purchase order will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular 05-15. The total contracted dollar amount, including options, if any will not exceed $5 million. This procurement is being issued as a request for quotation. Submit offers on NHLBI-PB (AR) 2007-181-RCO. Solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-15. This is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334119 and the small business size is 1000 employees. SCHEDULE: All additional information in this announcement is vital to the outcome of the requirement and its functionality. National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) has a requirement for advance technique offer by an optical adapter system and the IR beam routing, EOM & DMI 6000 are components to integrate and must be compatible with Leica SP5 confocal system. These items are necessary to visualize cells, molecules in live animals; it further detects through the two-photon techniques arrays of molecules in unstained, unfixed tissues such as muscle, skin, and connective tissues, permitting repetitive imaging of developing, regenerating or sick tissues. Government Specifications: a). the laser must be pulsed femtosecond Ti-Sapphire laser covering the wavelength range of at least 700 to 1000nm, with peak power of at least 2.5 w. b). The portable broadband optical power meter system must have at least 110 volts. c). the system must process in real time; and the system must be completely CPU controlled. d). easily integrated with all commercial and home-built multiphoton microscopy systems. A market research conducted by the Government has determined that at least (3) companies can supply compatible optical microscopy systems; which confirm the commercial market. Any optical microscopy system offered must be compatible with Leica SP5 confocal microscope, which is two-photon ready. The contractor must deliver no later than September 30, 2007; in Bethesda, MD.
