Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry-dock and repair to the USCGC SHAMAL (WPC-2), a 179 foot Cyclone Class Patrol Boat. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 30 JULY 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains and option automatic notification service. The NAICS code is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited as full and open. The vessel?s home pier is located at Pascagoula, MS. The performance period will be ninety (90) days with a start date on or about 15 OCTOBER 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for, but not limited to, the following Base items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Shots, (3) Clean and Inspect Fuel and Oil Tanks including disposal, (4) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, (5) Renew Four Soft Patch Gaskets, (6) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (7) Renew Shaft Bearings, (8) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, (9) Inspect MDE Exhaust System Components, (10) Clean and Inspect MPDE Jacket Water Heat Exchangers, (11) Clean and Inspect Ship?s Service Generators, (12) Overhaul Pump and Motor Assemblies, (13) Overhaul and Renew Valves, (14) Overhaul and Renew Duplex Sea Strainers, (15) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, (16) Overhaul Stabilizing Fins, (17) Inspect and Preserve Anchor and Anchor Chain, (18) Combatant Craft Retrieval System Maintenance, (19) Clean Sewage and Grey Water Piping Systems, (20) Preserve Chain Locker and Anchor Windlass Room Surfaces and Repair Hole in Aft Bilge Pocket, (21) Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, (22) Preserve Ballast Tanks, (23) Preserve Boat Well and Stern Door Interior Surfaces, (24) Preserve Underwater Body, (25) Preserve Superstructure, (26) Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection System, (27) Routine Dry-docking, (28) Provide Temporary Logistics, (29) Sound Powered Phone System Maintenance, (30) Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems, (31) Overhaul Shipboard Ventilation Motors, (32) Overhaul Mechanical Hatch Assemblies, (33) Preserve Breakwater, (34) Inspect Remote Operated Valve Gear ?
