- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) plans to issue a contract award on a sole source basis to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), located at 1000 Western Avenue, Lynn, MA 01910-0445, for the acquisition of spare CT7-8E engines in support of the VH-71 and Presidential Helicopters Program. This requirement is for four (4) spare engines. A Berry Amendment One-Time Waiver to General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), was approved on 21 June 2007. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency?s requirements. GE is the sole designer, developer and producer of the baseline VH-71 engine and is the only known source that possesses the engineering data, technical skills and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance and support characteristics necessary to produce the CT7-8E engines for use in the VH-71. The contract type will be a modification to an existing delivery order previously issued under BOA: FA8104-05-G-0004. This notice is for information purposes only.
