- The National Park Service is seeking contractors to control exotic pest plants in National Parks located in Florida and the Virgin Islands. The contractor(s) will be required to control exotic species up to, and including, total eradication whenever such species threaten protection or interpretation of resources being preserved on National Park Service lands. There will be three project locations included in this contract and contractors may bid on any or all of the three areas. Note that multiple awards may result from this solicitation. Project Area #1 consists of National Parks located in Northern Florida and National Parks located in Central Florida; Project Area #2 consists of National Parks located in South Florida; and Project #3 consists of National Parks located within the Virgin Islands. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interiors National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the National Business Center. Proposal documents will be made available in Microsoft Word, HTML and Adobe PDF. Offerors wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee notification. Proposed issue date is July 27, 2007. Title of Project: Exotic Plant Removal, Florida National Parks. The Government will make an award selection based on Best Value after considering cost and factors other than cost (i.e., Contractor's experience in the management of invasive plants; working in adverse conditions; and working in areas with sensitive plant and animal species). Work to be done under this effort will be performed as a task order against an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract. Proposal receipt date is approximate, actual date will be established at the time documents are made available. This procurement is a total small business set-aside being conducted as a Request for Proposal. The applicable NAICS code is 561730 with an associated size standard of $6.5 million.
