Description
The Branch of Forest Resources Planning (BOFRP) is the technical branch of the USDI BIA Division of Forestry and Wildland Fire Management. The BOFRP provides staff assistance and advice to the division relative to the formulation and implementation of national policies affecting the analysis, evaluation, development and coordination of forest inventories, data utilization and resource planning. The BOFRP serves as the division's national archive for reservation forest data and the national library of forest planning documents. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is seeking sources interested in providing enterprise-wide technical information technology and associated services for the support of the Branch of Forest Resources Planning. The services to be performed under this proposal require specialized technical skills, excellent customer service skills, and team cooperation with members of the BOFRP staff and also members of work teams comprised of BIA Forestry & Fire region / agency / reservation staff. The successful contractor must be capable of Designing, implementing, and supporting web-based systems to support BOFRP functions that are used by national and region BIA Forestry & Fire staff via the BIA Intranet. All Intranet-based systems need to also be designed to eventually work, with a minimum of modification, via the Internet, if and when the BIA is reconnected per the adjudication of Cobell vs. The Secretary of the Interior. The contractor will also be responsible for Designing, implementing, and supporting stand-alone systems to support BOFRP functions on BIA or Tribal desktop computers and handheld data recording devices deployed at the agency / reservation level for the express purpose of collecting program data will be processed, analyzed and reported by BOFRP staff. The estimated level of effort on this task is approximately ? FTE or 1200 hours. The estimated period of performance is 1 October 2007 through 30 September 2008. Service will be performed at the offices of the Branch of Forest Resources Planning in Lakewood, Colorado or a mutually agreed upon office site within a 20-mile radius (45 minute drive) of the BOFRP office in Lakewood, Colorado, near the Denver Federal Center. Contractor must be available to work at BOFRP office whenever requested by BOFRP COTR to do so. You may submit your interest via fax to Herbert Payne at 703-390-6582 or contact me at 703-390-6472.
