Description
VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN will be accepting sealed bids on or about August 23, 2007. This Invitation for Bid is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). NAICS Code 238160, size standard $13.0 mil applies. This project has a magnitude construction range between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment material and labor to accomplish the following per contract drawings and specifications. Replace and remove all wet roofing on the existing roof's of Building -1, C-wing above the old 1st floor north entry way (Approx 869 sq. ft.) above the 4th floor (old surgery) (Approx 2,392 sq. ft.) above both 8th floor north wings (Approx 2 x 2,258 sq. ft = 4,516 sq. ft.), above the 9th floor (Approx. 10,560 sq. ft.) above the 10th floor (approx. 2,201 sq. ft.), and above the 11th floor (Approx. 2,665 sq. ft.). On Building -1 A-wing replace the cat walk's (Approx 2 x 278 sq. ft. = 556 sq. ft., above the 4th floor). Contractor is to install foam Polyurethane Roof System with a certified installer and provide a Ten (10) year warranty. On the roofs above the 9th, 10th, & 11th floors the entire copper flashing is to be replaced as it has failed. After the new roof's and new flashing has been installed the brick will be tuck pointed and all the windows on the ninth floor will be recaulked. Contractor shall re-caulk all cap stones on the 9th, 10th, & 11th floors to prevent water from entering the building. Careful attention to the lighting protection system as this system shall not be disturbed. All this work is located at the VA Medical Center 1481 West Tenth Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Time to Completion: 180 Calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Bidders are reminded that all work shall take place in a healthcare environment and must conform to all applicable codes and standards for the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as state, local and Federal requirements. Bids will be publicly opened at place and time to be specified in the invitation. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for August 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at VAMC, 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202, Engineering Bldg. 5. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Telephone requests for information WILL NOT be honored. Questions concerning the solicitation shall be either mailed to the Contracting Officer or faxed to 317-988-1809. Amendments will be posted through FedBizOpps. Bidders are advised that no contract will be awarded to any firm not listed in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Prospective bidders are strongly urged to visit the CCR website at www.ccr.gov to ensure all registration requirements are current. Solicitation will be issued on or about July 25, 2007. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds.
