- This Request For Proposal (RFP) is seeking proposals under stewardship contracting authority vested through Public Law 108-7, Sec 323. Timber receipts will be used toward services which aid the goals and objectives described in the stewardship authority. A Statemet Of Work will be posted describing the services required. Bonds are not required: The performance value of services shall remain ahead of progress on timber value harvesting. The type of work required by this solicitation includes 1) whole tree removal, logging, skidding 2) waste minimization and/or hauling, 3) slash disposal, lop, scatter, 4) mastication and/or mix soil, 5) machine and hand pile, 6) selective slash and thinning, 7) road and road maintenance. These stewardship activities will take place at the Wildernest Stewardship Project Area located in the vicinity of Dillon Reservoir. It includes areas within the towns of Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne Colorado and encompasses approximately 6,300 acres. The project contains forty cutting units with required tree removal totalling an estimated 1,309 acres. The project contains sixteen fuel treatment units totalling 51 acres. The project area surrounds At-Risk Communities within the Dillon Ranger District. The estimated quantity of saw timber to be removed is 907 CCF of Lodgepole Pine; 8 CCF of Engelmann Spruce; 196 CCF of POL; and an unestimated amount of Biomass. Some temporary road construction and/or maintenance will be required in order to complete the service work and timber removal. The NAICS is 115310 and the small business size standard is $16.5 million. Solicitation AG-82X9-R-07-0100 will be issued and posted on this website on or around 7/16/2007. The solicitation will be set aside for small business. Any responsible small business may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. The forest service anticipates award of a firm-fixed price contract utilizing best value techniques and stewardship authority. The period of performance for all work to be completed will be approximately 31 Dec 2009 from date of award. The solicitation package will be posted on this FedBizOpps website within 7 calendar days. Proposals will be due 20 business days beginning the following day after the post date of the RFP package on FedBizOpps.
