Description
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service in Albany, California has a requirement for 300 each small Stainless Steel Animal Cages. The cages are designed to hang in a custom stainless steel rack system. The cages dimensions are 7? wide, 7.25? high and 9.5? deep. The front dimensions of the cages is 8? wide and 7.25? high. The back and sides of the cages are formed a single piece of 0.77mm thick (22gauge) type 304 stainless steel 2B finish. The top and bottom sides and bottom rear have a 0.5? hemmed flange of doubled stainless steel sheet bent at a 90 deg. from the vertical. The top hemmed flange is needed to hang from the rack system and the bottom side and rear hemmed flange is needed to weld the stainless steel mesh bottom to the back and side. A 1? diameter hole 3.25? from the top of the cage back is required for the water system. The cage label holder is fixed to the front of the cage by a 2.25? high x 7? wide steel sheet of the same specifications as the front and side. The cage holder stainless steel sheet is triple folded at the bottom with a 0.5? gap to hold the cage card label. The cage holder stainless steel sheet is hemmed or double folded at the top with a 0.5? flange at about 60deg. from the vertical face of the cage front to secure the top of the cage label. The bottom of cage is 1.5 mm diameter 304 stainless steel wire mesh with a 11.0 mm square grid. The wire mesh is a single piece forming the bottom and front of the cage. The bottom and bottom sides are welded to the 0.5? stainless steel double-folded flange of the one piece side and back. The top front of the stainless steel mesh is secured by the outer fold of the triple folded stainless steel sheet metal label holder. A 0.75? wide stainless steel clip to hold a 3? diameter feed jar is fixed to the front wire mesh of the cage about 2? from the bottom by stainless steel bolt, washer and nut. The Government intends to negotiate with the only known responsible source, Lab Products who built the original cages and stainless steel rack system. A solicitation is not available for this notice. Interested firms are encouraged to submit proposals.
