- The United States Postal Service intends to award a Two Phased Negotiated Guaranteed Maximum Price contract for a building expansion at the Providence, RI (mail) Processing and Distribution Center (Project #Q86391) in Providence, RI. The construction cost limits for this project is $30,800,000. The scope of work for this project includes construction of a 146,000 square foot concrete and masonry addition complete with all major building systems, finishes, paving and landscaping, and renovation of 150,000 square feet of existing space within the Processing and Distribution Center. The new work will take place on a USPS owned site adjacent to the area to be renovated. The work includes trades, materials and equipment found in all 16 CSI divisions. The work also includes material (mail) handling equipment removal, and installation of a new Tray Conveyor System and two Low Cost Tray Sorter. The work will be performed adjacent to and within the confines of an active mail processing facility operating twenty-four hours a day and will include tie-ins to all major building systems. All areas described are approximate; exact areas are denoted on plans and specifications available from LDI Reproprinting Center listed below. The total period for constructability review phase I will be 120 days. The total period for construction of phase II will be 540 days.
