- The Military Sealift Fleet Support Command intends to issue a firm fixed price contract with 3 options (one of each ship) for renewal and modification of the T-ARS Class Machinery Centralized Control System (MCCS). Vessels to be modified are as follows: USNS SAFEGUARD (T-ARS 50), anticipated installation location is the Far East; USNS GRASP (T-ARS 51), anticipated installation location is East Coast; USNS SALVOR (T-ARS 52), anticipated installation location is West Coast or Pearl Harbor; USNS GRAPPLE (T-ARS 53), anticipated installation location is East Coast. The start date is June 2, 2008. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about November 1, 2007.
