- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a firm fixed-price construction contract for the Shasta Dam 30-Ton Cableway Removal, approximately 12 miles northwest of Redding in Shasta County, California. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is: 237990. In accordance with FAR 19.1405, this requirement is being set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses only. The magnitude of this project is estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The work consists of the following: (1) Removal and demolition of an existing 30-ton cableway system from the site, including the head and tail towers with footing and guy wires, a cableway car, wire rope including the 3 ?" diameter main cable, a hoist house building including the equipment inside, and exposed wire rope anchors. The concrete wire rope anchor blocks may remain in place, provided that the exposed surfaces are left smooth, with no sharp metal protrusions; and (2) Three osprey nesting platforms on poles shall be installed on the site. The three wood poles shall be installed according to the specifications, with each one supporting an osprey nesting platform at the top. The existing osprey nests shall be removed from their current locations on the cableway towers and placed on the new osprey nesting platforms. This procurement will require 100% performance and payment bonds. Solicitation 07SP200145 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about July 24, 2007. The estimated date for receipt of proposals is August 23, 2007. Details concerning the site visit and how to register will be located in Section L of the solicitation. The solicitation and specifications must be downloaded at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings. You must register on the Bidder's Mailing List to receive the drawings. Also, Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as required by FAR 4.1102 applies to this requirement. In addition, FAR 4.1200 Annual Representations and Certifications, Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) apply to this requirement. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR and ORCA database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
