- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-07-RP-0082 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Department of Defense (DoD) to procure Carbamazepine. The estimated annual usage is as follows: Carbamazepine 100MG Chewable Tab-100's Package Size-16,812 bottles; Carbamazepine 100MG Chewable Tab-500's Package Size-1,590 bottles; Carbamazepine 200MG Tab-100's Package Size-49,265 bottles; Carbamazepine 200MG Tab-500's Package Size-7,262 bottles; OR Carbamazepine 200MG Tab-1,000's Package Size-16,230 bottles. The estimated annual usage includes VA and DoD requirement. Indian Health Service (IHS) and Bureau of Prisons (BOP) requirements will be forthcoming and will be included in the solicitation once issued. Glass bottles are not acceptable. Tablets/capsules must be compatible with automated dispensing units ( Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifill etc.). All bottles of 100 tablets or less must have a child resistant closure. VA and DoD reserves the right to add additional package sizes to the contract at a later date, when they become available or if offered in a vendor's proposal. This will not affect the quantities listed in the usage requirements. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA's and DoD's respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor(s). Offerors must state the exact name (name that appears on label) by which the drug will be supplied and have a unique NDC number. If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. Solicitation No. VA-797-07-RP-0082 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about July 24, 2007, with a closing date of August 14, 2007. The NAICS code for this procurement is 325412. Any future amendments and other miscellaneous documents will be available electronically for download at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available, and no telephone requests for paper copies of the solicitation will be accepted.
