Description
The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to Applied Biosystems, 301 Merrit 7, Norwalk Ct., 06851-1070. Item 0001, Serial Number AG01120507, Replace Turbomolecular Pump Part 1012180, on API 5000 Mass Spectrometer, Item 0002, Serial Number AG01120507, Replace Turbomolecular Pump Controller Part 1002923 on API 5000 Mass Spectrometer, 0003, Serial # Ag01120507, Labor to Replace Turbomolecular Pump on API 5000 Mass Spectrometer, Item 0004, Serial Number AG01120507, Zone Charge Replace Turbomolecular Pump on API 5000 Mass Spectrometer, Item 0005, Serial Number AG01120507, Travel charge to Replace Turbomolecular Pump on API 5000 Mass Spectrometer, Item 0006, These items are for a specific service repair agreement for an existing Applied Biosystems API 5000 triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Only Applied Biosystems has access to specific diagnostic and control features on these instruments and thus other vendors cannot perform repairs and maintenance on these systems. Applied Biosystems is the only vendor who has access to the core instrument control features and diagnostics on these systems. This unit was originally selected because it is critical for the development of assays for the detection of seafood toxins in shellfish and finfish and is needed in two different programs. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
