- Description
- The U. S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), intends to procure construction services for a Boat Barn at the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) at Galveston, Texas. The project requires a 66-foot by 75-foot Boat Barn. This shall be a metal building to house boats and equipment. It shall include options for two storage loft areas. This action will be accomplished using design/build procedures. The metal structure shall withstand at least a Category 3-to-4 Hurricane with up to 140 mile-per-hour winds. The building must meet all current Uniform Standards and National Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Fire Prevention Codes. It must also adhere to manufacturing quality compliance requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and American Welding Society (AWS) and established materials and fabrication standards. The project will consist of a Base Bid for the Metal Building and two Option Items: Option I will be finishing the East Side loft area, and Option II will be finishing the West Side loft area. All workmanship and materials shall be in accordance with detailed plans and specifications and subject to the inspection and approval of NOAA. The period of performance is one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. Estimated construction cost is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The Davis-Bacon Wage rates for the Galveston, Texas, area are applicable to this procurement. This is a total small business set-aside. NAICS code 236220 applies. The resultant procurement will be a firm-fixed price contract. The Central Region Acquisitions Division (CRAD) requires that all contactors doing business with this Acquisitions Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA). No award will be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR.
