Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for four (4) Quincy Model QR150BBS Air Compressors rated at 68 ACFM at 90 PSIG and two (2) Optional Combination Duplex Panels with two power source supply. The base mount unit is built on a heavy duty steel base and powered by a 15 HP 460/3/60, ODP standard efficiency motor with compressor operating at 711 RPM. The compressors and optional combination duplex panels are to be delivered F.O.B. destination to SSA, Operations Building Loading Dock, 6401 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235-0001 between the hours of 7:30am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday, within 45 days of contract award. This is a Brand Name Only requirement. BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION: The SSA seeks brand name Quincy Air Compressors and Optional Duplex Panels to correspond with existing air compressors, which have been standardized as the main source of pneumatic air supply in the main Woodlawn Complex building renovations. Standardization of this equipment is necessary to reduce parts inventories, while keeping adequate parts inventory readily available for maintenance and repairs, and to provide for the storing and use of one brand of oil. TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE: This procurement is 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS code is 333912 and the associated small business size is 500 employees. SSA anticipates awarding one firm fixed price purchase order for this requirement. This requirement will be procured utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13- Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued on or about July 9, 2007. The RFQ will be issued under solicitation number SSA-RFQ-07-1613.
