Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions submitted from site visit attendees. Referenced drawings and pictures can be found at: http://heron.nrl.navy.mil/contracts/rfp/07tb05.htm Q-1. Will the existing equipment/cableing (positioner and cabeling under floors) be removed? If not, how will we determine quiet zone performance. A-1. No, the measurements will need to be done around existing equipment. Q-2. Will NRL provide escorts (Within the building)? A-2. Yes Q-3. Would it be preferable to provide T.S. Cleared persons? A-3. Individuals with TS clearance can access the building but it is not necessary. Escorts will still be required in the chamber work area. US citizens are required. Q-4. Is there any requirement to perform (Shielding Enclosure Testing)? A-4. Per the NRL specification, paragraph 1.4, Testing of the quiet zone should be included in the chamber refurbishment. (If so, the door is going to require extensive rehabilitation in order to meet any radio frequency RF requirements) Q-5. Are there any door repair parts included? A-5. No door parts are available. Currently the door is operational. Q-6. A-1 answers previous questions - Transmit horn located center off wall. (How far off center home is for antenna?) A-6. (Are these limits of the transmit antenna? How far the antenna travels? A-7. During the site visit the travel path of the horn was available for inspection. Q-8. What lowest frequency of concern of the antenna located on the carraige? A-8. Per the NRL specification paragraph 1.3, (Frequency Coverage is 1-94 GHz (optimal 4-36 GHz)). The lowest frequency would be 1GHz. Q-9. How much storage can we utilize? A-9. 20 ft. X 10 ft. will be clear in the work area prior to work effort. Q-10. How close to work area can we store material, trailer and dumpster? A-10. 250 ft. Q-11. Please provide list of approved trash disposal. A-11 ETW, Llc. 9304 Darcy Road., Upper Marlboro, MD Q-12. Who is manufacturer of current absorber and year manufactured? A-12. This information is not available. Q-13. Does NRL consider existing material Hazardous? A-13 The contractor should dispose of the foam in a landfill. Q-14. If design dictates the relocation of existing electrical panel, (If they cannot have them there to achieve requested attenuation) is this acceptable? A-14. No Q-15. Is the intent for the facility to duplicate an existing facility? A-15 No. Facility has a unique function. Q- 16. If so, can we get a copy of that report? A- 16. N/A Q-17.
