Description

The purpose of this work is to provide a tow haulage system for Montgomery Point Lock and Dam. The complete tow haulage package shall consist of a chamber system and (2) auxiliary systems. The chamber system shall consist of a chamber winch, take u p tower, pulley sheaves, wire rope, tow bitt, railing, electrical power and controls, and all necessary mounting and fastening components as indicated in the plans and specifications. The chamber system shall be controlled locally and remotely from the up stream, central, and downstream control consoles. Each auxiliary system shall consist of an auxiliary air tugger winch, a fairleader, pulley sheaves, wire rope, and all necessary mounting and fastening components as indicated in the plans and specificatio ns. One auxiliary winch shall be located upstream, and the other shall be located downstream. The auxiliary systems shall assist in hauling the barges out of the lock chamber should the chamber system fail to move them the necessary distance. The auxili ary system shall be controlled locally and remotely. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. It is anticipated to be a Firm-Fixed-Price Contract. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 237990 and the annual size is $31 million. This solicitation will be an Invitation for Bid, unrestricted. Solicitation issue date is on or about 23 July 2007, with date for receipt of bids on or about 22 Aug 2007. BASIS OF AWARD  Subject to the terms and conditions contained in the solicitation, award will be made to a single Bidder. The solicitation will not be available in paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when determined to be in the best inte rest of the Government. The Federal Technical Data Solution FedTeDS provides a secure on-line request and dissemination management system. It is integrated with FedBizOpps (FBO) and Central Contractor Registration (CCR). The FedTeDS System ensures th at all vendors accessing Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) documents have the appropriate authority to view this data.
