Description
James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), Tennessee, 37684, has a requirement for an Upgrade of Electrical Switchgear . Contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, and transportation for upgrading electrical distribution and analysis. Provide electrical construction at existing switchgear enclosure, Building No. 115, including replacement of all air circuit breakers with vacuum circuit breakers and replacement of all existing circuit breaker trip controls on 11 cubicles, including new protective relays and meters. Perform electrical system protective device study 13-KV Switchgear Building No. 115, 3, 5, 8, 20, 37, 77, 116, 160, 162, 200, 201, 204, 205, and 206. This will include emergency generators and associated electrical panels for Buildings 5, 116, 160(161), 162, and 200. This electrical system protective device study shall include comprehensive load analysis, identify available fault currents at all locations, and will include coordination study of major circuit breakers in system. The protective study shall include sufficient analysis to indicate incident energy at all switchgear and labeling for same, in accordance with NFPA 72E, "Electrical Safety Requirements for Workplaces". Perform flash hazard analysis and label all switchgear. Provide arc protective clothing for site personnel consistent with degree of hazard determined for total of four personnel at each location where arc fault hazard has been established requiring minimum 8 cal/cm2 protection. The new work shall meet all applicable VA criteria, codes, life safety codes and Uniform Building Codes. NAICS Code is 236220, with small business size standard of $31.5 million. Anticipated completion is 120 calendar days from Notice To Proceed. Work estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Solicitation is 100% Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). Drawings and specifications for Solicitation VA-249-07-RP-0044 will be available on a first-come first-served basis on/about 7/20/07, at a mailing cost of $15 per set, payable to VA Medical Center, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
