- The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement to procure the following parts to upgrade the existing Airsep Systems currently installed onboard the Coast Guard 47' Motor Life Boats (MLB): (1) Walker Airsep CCE Evacuation System, P/N KWCCE6V92-47MLB, estimated quantity of 234 each; (2) Walker Replacement Air Filter Element Kits, P/N CGF447-V2, estimated quantity of 234 kits; and (3) Walker Airsep CCE Coalescing Sets, P/N CGC447-CS, estimated 234 sets. It is the Government's belief that only Walker Engineering, the Original Equipment Manufacturer, possesses the required technical and engineering specifications and drawings to successfully manufacture these parts. This information is proprietary to Walker Engineering. The Government did not procure this information, or the rights to use this information, when the AirSep systems were originally procured. Therefore it is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate only with Walker Engineering. Concerns having the expertise and required capabilities to furnish the above items were invited to submit their capabilities in the Sources Sought notice published in FedBizOpps on November 21, 2006. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which, if timely received, shall be considered by the Agency. Request for Quotation (RFQ) Number HSCG40-07-Q-60012 shall be available for download from FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) on or about July 30, 2007. This date is estimated at best. The closing date for receipt of proposals is contingent upon the release of the solicitation package, but is estimated to be August 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. EDST. Numbered Note 22.
