- Description
- The Okanogan and Wenatchee National Forest is seeking proposals for the reconstruction a recreation trail on the Methow Valley Ranger District. The project consists of work items covering approximately 3069 meters of trail. Work will be 2796 meters of clearing & grubbing, 2796 meters of excavation and embankment, 8 meters turnpike construction, 11 meters of log stringer streamford, 8 meters of rock streamford, 1 culvert installation, construction of 100 grade dips, 540 meters of trail obliteration and 250 meters of trail restoration. Project Location: Beginning of the project can be reached by traveling north on the West Chewuch River Road (County Road #2113) for 10.4 kilometers (6.5 miles), then take Forest Road #51 (Chewuch River Road) for 18.4 kilometers (11.5 miles) to Forest Road #5160 (Chewuch River Road) for 8.8 kilometers (5.5 miles) to the trailhead. Then take the Chewuch Trail #510 for approximately 25.6 kilometers (16 miles) to the beginning of the project. Wilderness rules apply so no motorized equipment (including wheelbarrows) will be allowed. Blasting may be required. Contractor shall be licensed in State of Washington, Labor and Industries, to conduct blasting. Desired start work date is August 1, 2007, with all work completed by October 30, 2007.. Estimated price range is between $25,000 to $100,000. 100% Performance and Payment Bonds due after award.
