Description: This project is located on the High Sierra Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. Work consists of thinning young conifer stands and treating all created slash. Contractor must also masticate all unwanted vegetation present on the work sites with a mechanical shredder. All slash and brush will be treated. Some access roads to units will require road-side clearing to support service vehicles. The estimated contract time is 90 calendar days. Estimated start work date is August 27, 2007. Note: There is a limited operating period of Feb. 15 to Sept 15 each year for goshawks; therefore, work may start approx. August 27, 2007 and continue until Sept. 15, 2007 and resume approximately Feb. 15, 2008.
