- The Forest Service is requesting quotes for a mechanical thinning/mastication project to remove trees and slash to meet healthy forests, hazardous fuel reduction and wildlife habitat objectives. The project area is 73 acres on the Grindstone Ranger District. PROJECT LOCATION may be reached from Stonyford, CA by proceeding west on Forest Service road 18N01 (M10) to Forest Service road 18N07. Proceed south on FS road 18N07 for approximately 5 miles. CONTRACT TIME is 60 days with an estimated start work date of 9/4/07. PREBID tour is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on August 14, 2007 meeting at the USFS Elk Creek Work Center located at 3286 County Road 308, Elk Creek, CA 95939. Solicitation will be available on this website on or about July 20. Quote are due by COB 8/21/2007. It will be the responsibility of the offeror to check FedBizOpps for any amendments to the solicitation or this announcement.
