Description

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is soliciting proposals on a full and open competitive basis from qualified organizations to award a contract to procure, preserve, and deliver human liver tissue and cells suitable for cellular and molecular studies from a variety of end-stage liver diseases to researchers. These tissue and cells would otherwise be discarded or be unobtainable to most researchers who are not a part of a liver transplant center. It is also designed to make normal liver tissue and cells available for research when such livers are found to be unsuitable for liver transplantation. The Request for Proposal, RFP No. NIH-NIDDK-06-05, will be issued at the www.fedbizopps.gov website on or about May 19, 2006 with a receipt date for proposals of July 7, 2006. See Numbered Note 26.
