- The Naval Air Warfare Center - Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Code: 4.5.11, St. Inigoes, MD, intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price Contract to Environmental Container Systems (ECS), Inc., on a Sole Source basis for procurement of Transit Cases. The ECS Transit Cases will provide the required shock and vibration proof for storage, transport, and protection against severe weather conditions and facilitate rapid delivery of contained advanced communication equipment to theaters of operation around the globe. The ECS transit cases range between four (4) and nine (9) units in height and have a depth of 24? with a slide-out inner frame. These cases are designed for tactical environments, a variety of weather conditions, include four (4) handles and come with the 9U nut bars installed. The ECS transit cases, designed to hold up to 63 lbs, 61-69 lbs, 82-85 lbs or 112-116 lbs, are also compatible with existing equipment and are engineered to contain specific Remote Radio Secure Voice System (RRSVS) communications equipment. The continued procurement of these transit cases is required to maintain commonality between Radio Units/Interface (RU)/(IU) and Spiral 3 systems, which are the platforms upon which the cases are utilized. All of the transit cases are engineered to contain the specific RRSVS communications equipment (FCC-100, KG-94, Audio test). In order to facilitate the exchange of cases, which may be required for maintenance or damage repair of the communication equipment, it is imperative that all variations of all transit cases are identical to those previously fielded. Procurement of identical cases will allow the continued operation of Remote Radio Secure Voice System Radio and Spiral 3 while communication equipment is being repaired or serviced. ECS, Inc., is the only qualified source for the required equipment that will satisfy the Government?s need for intended application. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 326199 ?All Other Plastics Product Manufacturing? with a Size Standard of 500 employees. Award is anticipated by 3 August 2007. Contract is to be FOB Destination to Receiving Officer, NAWCAD, Building 8115, Villa Road, St. Inigoes, MD 20684-0010, and shall be Marked For (M/F) as specified. Inspection and acceptance shall be made at destination. The DPAS rating for this solicitation is N/A. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. However, interested parties may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will not pay for any information received and reserves the right to process the procurement based upon the responses received.
