The Military Sealift Fleet Support Command (MSFSC) N6 Department is tasked with providing operational support for the payroll system called the Unified Civilian-Mariner (CIVMAR) Payroll System (UCPS). The UCPS application is a batch-processed COBOL system. Current configuration has two separate instances supporting two geographically-separated fleets, providing payroll services for approximately 5,000 CIVMARS. Current payroll production support is being performed by 2 computer operators and 1 lead operator. The below table is an example of a current typical two-week work period, with coverage on regular 8 hour days from 0700 until 1600: Week 1 Week 2 (Payroll Week) S M T W T F S S M T W T F S 0 8 8 8 8 8 0 Payroll Operator Lead 0 8 8* 8 8 8 0 0 8 8 8 8 8 0 Payroll Operator No. 1 0 8 8* 8 8 8 0 0 8 8 8 8 8 0 Payroll Operator No. 2 0 8 8# 8 8 8 0 * No. 1: Tues: 0800 ?1700 #No. 2: Tues: 0930 ? 1800 The Contractor adjusts work hours and works interactively with MSFSC payroll personnel to meet payroll production deadlines. The current contract includes an option for a training/transition period, should the incumbent not be awarded the follow-on. The training/transition period will cover a period of performance from 1 October 2007 through 15 Jan 2008. MSFSC N6 is seeking support for our production operations of the UCPS system beginning in October 2007.
