- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-05. This acquisition is set-aside 100% for small business under NAICS code 423450 and the small business size standard is 100 employees. The requirements in this solicitation are: CLIN 0001, 1 EA FERRALERT PRESCREEN HALO METAL DETECTOR FOR OUTSIDE MRI PART#MG2501, CLIN 0002, 1 EA INSTALLATION & TRAINING FOR FE RRALERT PRESCREEN PART#MG-2503, CLIN 0003, 1 EA FERRALERT ENTRY HALO MODEL H601 PART#MG-2500, CLIN 0004, 1 EA INSTALLATION AND TRAINING FOR MG-2500 PART#MG-2502. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Clause 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal applies to this acqu isition. CLIN 0001 salient characteristics are: A highly sensitive unit that detects very small ferrous objects, down to the size of a hairpin. The recommended placement for this device is in the patients screening or locker-room area, away from the mag net room. This product helps to increase patient throughput and to avoid potential mis-diagnosis. CLIN 0002 salient characteristics are:Complete installation and training for PART#MG2501. CLIN 0003 salient characteristics are: Reduces the risk of projec tiles form entering the MRI magnet. The device is installed unobtrusively at the approach to the MR magnet room, Zones II and III of the ACR recommendations, or at room doorway. This product helps a great deal to protect investment in the magnet and to a void a catastrophic usually cause by large ferrous projectiles. CLIN 0004 salient characteristics are: Complete Installation and training for PART#MG-2500. Vendors shall comply with FAR 52.211-6 if submitting other than the Brand Name product. Clause 52 .211-6 (and other clauses throughout this solicitation) can be viewed by accessing website http://farsite.hill.af.mil/ . Delivery, 30 days after receipt of order, shipping shall be FOB destination to Evans Army community Hospital, 1650 Cochran Circle, B ldg 7500 Room 603, Fort Carson, Colorado 80913. FAR provision 52.212-1 [Instructions to Offerors Commercial] applies to this acquisition to include the following addenda: All offerors are cautioned that if selected for award, they must be registered w ith the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) program. The CCR can be accessed via the internet at www.ccr.gov/ . Confirmation of CCR registration will be validated prior to awarding a contract. Evaluation Process: All proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria: Technical Capability (compliance with the requirements of FAR Clause 52.211-6 if vendor offers and Equal Product) and Price, with Technical Capability being significantly more important than Price. Vendors shall in clude a completed copy of FAR provision 52.212-3 with their offer. The provision can be downloaded by accessing the website listed in this solicitation.
