Description
Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The project consists of excavating the existing shore to create a marina that will be operable for a change in lake levels of 65 feet. This will require the building of an embankment surrounding the marina to provide against wave protection and create the marina perimeter. The interior and exterior of the marina will be armored with stone protection, approximately 27,000 cubic yards of stone and 9000 square yards of geotextile will be required. The project will require the excavation of approximately 550 ,000 cubic yards of soil, of which approximately 70,000 cubic yards of lignite that will be hauled from the site and not usable as fill. The compacted embankment will consist of approximately 470,000 cubic yards and be obtained from the excavated material . Cofferdam construction and dewatering will be required before the majority of excavation can be initiated. The cofferdam will consist of approximately 24,000 cubic yards of imported granular underwater fill and the remaining section consisting of exist ing excavated site material. There will be new utility work, parking lot surfacing, concrete slabs for concession stand and fuel tank. Options included will be docks, gangway, ramps, additional marina stone protection, concession building and floating br eakwater. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 365 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to compl ete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Obtaining Solicitation Documents: This office will no longer send copies via paper or CDs of amendments and solicitations to interested parties. Solicitation documents will be posted on Federal Technical Data Solutions or FedTeDS. FedTeDS is a web-based dissemination tool designed to safe guard acquisition-related information. When solicitation documents have been issued and posted to FedTeDs, synopsis or pre-solicitation notice will be amended and a link provided to access FedTeDS in note 2 below. The process to download from FedTeDS is: 1. Find solicitation announcement in Fed Biz Opps at: www.fbo.gov 2. Once you open the solicitation announcement on Fed Biz Opps, there will be a link provided to the solicitation on FedTeDS. Click on the link. 3. If you are a first time user, you will have to register as described in the information included below; if not log in and open the solicitation. 4. Once you have the solicitation open, you can begin downloading the various files to your location. Registration instructions can be found on the FedTeDS website at: https://www.fedteds.gov by clicking on the Register with FedTeDS hyperlink.
