Description
THIS MARKET SURVEY/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE REPLACES PREVIOUS MARKET SURVEY/SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE-W15QKN-07-X-0337, ISSUED ON 25 JUNE 2007. The Product Manager for Mortar Systems, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of meeting the requirements for the development, production, fielding, training, and initial logistic support of various mortar fire control systems in the FY08- FY12 timeframe. The purpose of this market survey is to assist the Product Manager in finalizing an acquisition strategy. One or multiple contracts could be awarded and may include any or all of the following: development, testing, production, system integration, modifications, staging, fielding, and Operator and Maintainer New Equipment Training of various mortar fire control systems. The Operator and Maintainer New Equipment Training may also encompass mortar weapon systems as well as fire control systems. The programs of record which are to be procured and supported during this timeframe include the M95/M96 Mortar Fire Control System (Mounted), the XM150/XM151 Dismounted Mortar Fire Control System, the M32 Lightweight Mortar Ballistic Computer, a lightweight mortar fire control system for 81mm mortar application, and other potential dismounted fire control variants. Hardware elements of the mortar fire control systems listed above included ruggedized military computers and personal digital assistants, displays (gunners and drivers), power distribution systems, power supplies, inertial navigation units, ruggedized mounts, and ruggedized cables. Potential candidates should have experience in mortar fire control systems and mortar weapon systems in any or all of the areas described above. Request that all interested contractors provide at no cost to the Government, and within fifteen days of this publication, a summary of their firm???s past experience, capabilities, size of business (small, small disadvantaged, or large business), and descriptions of facilities and key personnel that demonstrates that they would be capable of meeting any or all of the above requirements. The information shall be sent by electronic mail to mgomez@pica.army.mil. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. The market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government.
