- PRESOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT - Replace Windows Building 39. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 5500 Armstrong Rd., Battle Creek, Michigan, 49015 anticipates soliciting and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Replace Windows Bldg 39". The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and 36 (Construction) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to perform the work under this project to include complete removal and replacement of existing windows, frames, and eliminate security screens in Building 39. The location of the work will be at the above stated address. The period of performance shall be 120 days. The solicitation documents will be issued on or about Monday, July 16, 2007. At such time, information will be provided regarding the obtainment of plans and specifications. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation. Magnitude of Construction: $250,000 to $500,000 The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238150 - Glass and Glazing Contractors ($13 million). Important Information: The Government will in no way be obligated to issue a solicitation or award a contract for the aforementioned work, and is providing this as information only. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. Currently a total set-aside for Small Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms is anticipated. However, if interest by Small Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms proves inadequate, an alternate set-aside or full and open competition may be determined. Funds are not yet available for this procurement. Notice to Potential Offerors: All Offerors who provide goods or services to the United States Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR located on the web at www.ccr.gov). It is desirable that any offeror to have completed their business Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) and also be registered with the VetBiz registry if a Service Disabled Veteran Owned or Veteran Owned Small Business firm at vip.vetbiz.gov.
