Description
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to include open market items on a General Services Administration Federal Acquisition Service award to Lenovo, Inc. for the solution to its overall Personal Computer (PC) Refresh Program. The open market items include port replicators, keyboards, mice, docking stations, and carrying cases. These items complete Lenovo's overall solution to the FDA's PC Refresh requirements. The solution was proposed during a competitive comparison using the General Services Administration's Federal Acquisition Service and Department of Health and Human Services' Blanket Purchase Agreements for Personal Computers. The procurement for providing the overall solution is closed. Acquiring the units and these components from one source will provide a single point of contact for ordering, staging deliveries, and accountability for delivery issues and non-performing units or components. Due to the quantities being ordered and multiple delivery locations, it is of paramount importance to ensure that deliveries are appropriately coordinated and FDA's administrative oversight is minimized. The period of performance for this requirement is from date of award through September 30, 2010. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.501(a) and no other solution will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code is 334111 and the size standard is 1000 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation document is available. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give notification to the Contracting Officer by 8:00am local eastern time on July 5, 2007. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Information can be emailed to the Contracting Officer, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Attn: Sandra Bellinger at the email below. Responses received will be reviewed, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the FDA will proceed with the sole source award to Lenovo, Inc., One Manhattanville Road, Suite PH, Purchase, New York, 10577. The anticipated award date of this contract is on or around July 7, 2007. No collect calls will be accepted. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact Sandra Bellinger at 301- 827-7159 or via email sandra.bellinger@fda.hhs.gov.
