- Project Title: Cave Gulch and Never Sweat Trailheads and Skidway Campground The Helena N.F. intends to issue a solicitation for building two trailheads, Cave Gulch and Never Sweat and to reconstruct portions of the Skidway Campground located on the Helena and Townsend Ranger Districts, Helena National Forest, Lewis & Clark and Broadwater Counties, in the Big Belt Mountains east of Canyon Ferry Reservoir. The work includes but is not limited to constructing parking areas and access roads, obliterating roadway, furnishing and placing aggregate, furnishing and installing a concrete plank ford, seeding, installation of signs, providing and installing curb stops and picnic tables. There will be a pre-bid tour of the site on Wednesday August 8, 2007. The tour will meet at the Skidway Campground located approximately 23 miles east of Townsend, Montana, on Forest Road #4042 in Broadwater County at 10 AM, will meet at Cave Gulch Trailhead at 1:30 PM and then will meet at the Never Sweat Trailhead at 3:00 PM. Interested parties should contact DJ Johnston, telephone (406) 495-3732 in advance. It is recommended that interested parties attend the pre-bid site tour. Government estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Award maybe made by individual project. This project is set-aside for small business. Estimated start work date is September 9, 2007. The solicitation packet will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about July 27, 2007.
