Description
This is a modification to the pre-solicitation notice FA7000-07-T-0156: The requirement to manufacture, install, and assemble 781 storage lockers at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The changes to the requirement are as follows: FROM: Line item 0001, 10 gauge 2ftx 2ft welded wire mesh single tier add ons 3ftx 3ft x 7ft high, 388 each TO: Line item 0001, Locker, Single Tier Starter, Folding Guard Part# AFA-1248-1-PC, Single tiers starters OR EQUAL, 85 each. Standard type 10-steel gauge 2" x 2" welded wire mesh single tier starter 3' x 3' x 7' high. Single tier starters shall come with 4 posts that are 2" square 14-gauge metal with welded cap and footplate for mounting. Corners need to support side and front panel of the door. Top of lockers will be made of 10-gauge-welded wire mesh securely fastened to top angles. Sides and front will be 10-gauge-welded wire mesh (removed front). Backs will be 22-gauge solid steel. Shelves shall support a minimum of 120 lbs. Single tier lockers shall have one door 4-gauge steel 2" x 2" welded wire mesh the full length of the locker with locking bar, padlock hasp and require 3 industry standard hinges. Removable or non-removable panels that hold a 10-gauge wire mesh and made of a 12-gauge angle bracket 1" x 1" al around and then bolted to the 4 post with a ?-20" carriage bolt. These holes must be drilled unless the contractor can prevent the metal from being pushed in by the punching process. The front door panel requires 1 stiffener. Door frames are pre-assembled. The lockers shall have a paint thickness of 1/6" and be a gray powder coat (Industry Standard). Free standing. Lockers shall have four sides. Add-ons shall have 3 sides. Lockers shall have removable or non-removable panels that hold a minimum of 1-guage welded wire mesh and made of 12-gauge angle bracket 1" x 1" all around and then bolt to the 4 post with a ?-20" carriage bolt . These holes must be drilled unless the contractor can prevent the metal from being pushed in by the punching process. The front door panel requires 1 stiffener. Door frames are pre-assembled. The lockers shall have a paint thickness of 1/16" and be a gray powder coat (Industry Standard). Free standing. Lockers shall have four sides. Add-ons shall have 3 sides. FROM: Line item 0005, Installation of the lockers, 781 each. The lockers need to be manufacture to the dimensions set forth by customer as shown below and in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) safety guidelines. Single tier lockers with one hinged door, double tier lockers with two hinged doors. All lockers are with ceilings. Single tier starter is required with solid metal tops and bottoms and solid backs with a size of 3ft wide, 3ft deep and 7ft high. Lockers require a hasp latch, double tier starters, and add-ons as solid metal shelf. The back of the locker is solid as well. The contractor will assemble storage lockers on-site and lockers will need to be anchored to the floor using a flat plate connected to the 2"x2" posts. Lockers will also be anchored tot the wall with angle iron every 4 to 6 units. All single tier and add-ons should be able to bolt to each other. The finish is Gray (Powder Coated). For the installation, the contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, hardware, anchors and labor necessary to ensure that the manufacturing, installation, and assembling of the lockers. Install angle iron to wall to prevent lockers from falling over. Contractor shall clean up work area and dispose of waste after installation. The installation needs to start the beginning of October 2007 if at all possible. The delivery and installation of the lockers will have to be performed during normal duty hours (7:30am to 5:00 pm). The contractor would need to ship and install the lockers on a schedule worked out with the user. The contractor shall install the storage lockers in 55 storage rooms for a grand total of 781 lockers. TO: Line item 0005, INSTALLATION, 781 lockers. The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, hardware, anchors and labor necessary to ensure that the storage lockers are manufactured, installed and assembled. Contractor shall be responsible for the readiness of the storage lockers and storage rooms from the beginning through installation and acceptance. Installation needs to begin not later than 30 days after receipt of purchase order. The delivery and installation of the storage lockers will have to be performed during normal duty hours (7:30am to 5:00 pm). The installation will take place at Sijan Hall Bldg 2348 on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th floors. Sijan Hall is a cadet dormitory at the United States Air Force Academy. The contractor will assemble the storage lockers on-site and they will also need to be anchored to the floor using a flat plate connected to the 2" x 2" posts. Anchored to the walls with angle iron every 4 to 6 units. The contractor shall install the storage lockers on a schedule coordinated with the user. Point of Contact (POC): is MSgt Bridgewater at (719) 333-0379. The 781 lockers will be installed in 55 storage rooms. All single tier and add-ons should be able to bolt to each other. Freight and personnel elevators will be available for use. The installation of the required lockers is to support the cadets. Installation of the lockers will require the contractor to provide adequate engineering to successfully orchestrate. Currently there is existing shelving in the storage rooms that the lockers will be installed in. The contractor will not be required to remove them; they will be removed in advance by cadets. The lockers must be installed by the contractor by squadrons. 110 Volt power is available Lifting equipment and miscellaneous large items may be stored at the ground level of the dormitory. Base Supply can supply temporary storage; however, it has to be scheduled and coordinated to see if there is any temporary storage available at the time of delivery. 53'L trailer 95"L overall tractor/trailer can be brought close to the building for 1 day or less to unload but not for extended periods. Materials can be stored/staged in empty storage rooms. Sijan Hall has a service elevator that goes all the way up in the center of the building. A small electric forklift in the cadet area is available for use by the contractor. In addition, there will be a site visit scheduled at the Air Force Academy on or about 12 July 2007. The RFQ will be made available electronically on FedBizOpps. No hard copies will be available. All propspective contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration by the proposal due date to be considered. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 337215 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
